Frankfurt, Germany - Day 1
So, after having the first segment (Sea-Den) of my flight to Europe cancelled, I was routed Seattle-San Francisco and non stop to Frankfurt, Germany. Even though I did not get a business class seat to San Francisco, it was not stop from SF to FRA. And I arrived 2 hours earlier than I would have with my original itenerary. Not to mention that I'm typing this entry on a German keyboard, just slightly different.
I was exhausted when we finally landed in Frankfurt. The train ride from the airport to the city was a 10 minute no brainer. I stuffed my bags into a locker at the train station and went to find my hotel. It was onlz three blocks away. I finally got checked in and settled. After that I went back to the train station to have lunch. I was hungry and did not want to search for food. there was a great food court in the train station with lots to choose from.
After lunch I validated my Eurail pass and made a reservation from Frankfurt to Köln. A pretty easy process. After eating lunch I started exploring the city centre. And I just could not get out from under the wrath of STARBUCKS. But of course I decided to have a cup. I sat in the fountain square and wrote some post cards. Then, even with the cup of coffee I was exhausted and went back to my hotel room and took a nap. Got up and went exploring in the evening, found a place to eat some dinner and had some ice cream and went back to bed. That's about it for Frankfurt. My next entry will be for Köln, which is where I am now !
