October 8, 2005 - Budapest

Well...I have not been able to get to an internet cafe since leaving Berlin. Budapest is amazingly beautiful. So far I have been here since noon and walked everywhere. I will be here for three day and am looking forward to hopefully taking a boat cruise up the Danube on what they call the Danube Bend. It is suppose to have a lot of castles and two small mid-evil town to stop at. It is an 8 hour trip. Then Monday I will spend looking at the Parliment, castles (which I saw today briefly) and the other sites.
I only have 15 minutes on this computer so my entry will be short
I am in a somewhat of an expensive hotel. More than I wanted to pay but at least I am comfortable. So it is worth it.

I took the train from Berlin to Prague. I was not as impressed with Prague as I thought I would be. However, It seems that Czech is very similar to Russian. I was able to pick up on a lot of similar words so it was interesting to be able to comminicate there. I had a great dinner there. Very authentic.
After Prague I went to Vienna. Amazing city. There is so much history there and the architecture is incredibly beautiful. All the palaces, the opera house, Summer Garden, etc. And of course...the pastries are AMAZING.

I spent 6 months in Innsbruck, Austria as a nanny and never made it to Vienna!!! Astounding, I know, but caring for 3 little kids, a big German Shepheard and a household didn't leave me time for travel. I think the experience scarred me for life. No children, no pets and I rent. I wanna hear all about the beautiful buildings and see your photos. May we do it over a cupcake and coffee at Cupcake Royale?
